The Beresford School District will join districts across the state to thank school board members for their leadership and service to our local school district and community during South Dakota School Board Recognition Week from February 21-25.

School Board Recognition Week is an excellent opportunity to recognize our school board and the board’s dedication to our kids and community. Beresford School District Board of Education members are Mrs. Deb Bergland (President -serving since 2005), Mr. Chris Savey (Vice-President -serving since 2013), Mr. Dan Erickson (serving since 2013), Mr. Nathan Jensen (serving since 2021), and Mr. Russell Johnson (serving since 2014).

This group is responsible for setting the vision and goals for the district and strives to provide a quality education for our students. In addition, the school board hires quality educators, adopts policies, and evaluates progress while always keeping the best interests of our students in mind. School board members serve as the conduit between the school and the community. I, Dustin Degen, commend our school board members for their service, passion, and commitment to our long-term success. Behind every successful school district is a visionary, reflective, and passionate school board.

During School Board Recognition Week, the Beresford School District invites students, staff, and community members to take part in thanking its school board members.

Respectfully,

Dr. Dustin Degen
