The South Dakota Department of Health (SD DOH) and the South Dakota Department of Education (SD DOE) will be providing our school district an allocation of the Abbott BinaxNOW Rapid Antigen Test materials for testing students and/or staff who display COVID-19 related symptom(s) at school. The first shipment of the kits and individual tests will arrive at our school this week.
The COVID-19 Rapid Test is easy to administer and involves a nasal swab with results in 15-30 minutes. Please click on the link below and carefully read and then sign the pre-authorization consent form if you give our District permission to perform the COVID-19 Rapid Test on your child should he/she display COVID-19 related symptom(s) at school. A SD DOH trained school district nurse, administrator, or administrative assistant will administer the rapid test. Also, please click on the second link to read the Fact Sheet for Patients.
