Spring Flowers

At her April 6 press briefing, Governor Noem closed South Dakota schools for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year.  As a result, the Beresford School District will continue with the alternative and online learning options for the remainder of the school year, through Wednesday, May 20.

With the Governor’s announcement of school closure, all remaining SDHSAA events for 2019-20, to include all spring activities and postponed winter events, are cancelled.  We would especially like to thank our seniors for their dedication and everything they have done for our schools, our academic and activity programs, and community.  We are currently surveying the BHS Class of 2020 about a virtual graduation ceremony on May 16 and a Summer Recognition and Graduation Ceremony toward the end of July or early August.  They have been an outstanding class and our District intends to honor them for their tremendous accomplishments.

Our District will continue to provide free breakfasts and free lunches to all students for pick up on Mondays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the south campus multi-purpose room.

Lastly, I would like to wish all of our students, staff, and families a wonderful Easter weekend.  Good Friday and Easter Monday are scheduled as no school days, so please enjoy your time at home with your family during the four-day weekend.  All students, staff, and families deserve a well-earned break from schoolwork and they should all enjoy spending some quality time with family members at home.

Thank you.

Brian Field, Superintendent
