Congratulations to Candace Zweifel and Dr. Krislyn Carlson for their state-level recognition. Both provide exceptional care and service to our district’s kids and families. Candace Zweifel was a 2024 Special Education Staff of the Year Nominee. Parents/guardians nominated her, and parents/guardians also nominated Dr. Krislyn Carlson.
Beresford Elementary School educator Dr. Krislyn Carlson was recognized on March 6, 2024, during the 2024 South Dakota Special Education Conference as a Top 5 Finalist for the South Dakota Special Education Teacher of the Year! Krislyn Carlson, EdD, is a K-5 Special Education Teacher with the Beresford School District with 25 years of experience teaching special education at the elementary and middle school levels. Her dissertation research focused on reading fluency interventions for students with learning disabilities. Her current interests include adapting literacy and language instruction for students with complex learning needs.
