Halvorson Receives Governor's Award for Outstanding Transition Service

On Monday, October 30, 2023, Mrs. Ashley Halvorson received an award for Outstanding Transition Services from the Honorable Kristi Noem. The ceremony started at 11:00 a.m. with Secretary Shawnie Rechtenbaugh from the Department of Human Services addressing the crowd regarding the intent and flow for the morning. Governor Kristi Noem presented seven awards to various businesses and individuals. Before presenting each award, Governor Noem commented on the value of one’s work ethic, the value of people doing extraordinary things, and the joy of sharing the positive news about people and employers making a difference. The Outstanding Transition Services award is given to an individual in recognition of extraordinary contributions to developing and providing a program to assist students with disabilities as they transition from school to adult life. After Governor Noem addressed the crowd, she invited award winners to share a few remarks to the crowd in the Capital’s rotunda. Mrs. Ashley Halvorson accepted her award with grace and humility. When addressing the crowd, Mrs. Halvorson shared how the award is the result of the contributions of many in the school and community. The Beresford School District commends Mrs. Ashley Halvorson for her distinguished service to our students and community.
