On Wednesday, September 20, 2023, the BSD BOE met for our yearly strategic planning meeting. Because data streams to use throughout the school year, we are looking to provide academic, fine arts, athletic, and servant leadership pillar updates via our leadership reports. We feel that this will help the BSD BOE continue to engage in the school improvement process more regularly.
During the September 20, 2023, meeting, we toured our facilities while discussing current opportunities, challenges, and growth areas. The Beresford School Board identified the following three large project focus areas/phases:
- Activity Space (Gym Addition and MPR Remodel) -Continue to move forward to address our needs
- Fine Arts Space/Improvements (to begin improvements in 2033-2034)
- Saving Funds FY 2029 through FY 2033
- Engaging in conversations with key stakeholders regarding our intentions, efforts, and ideas in the fine arts
- South Campus Lobby (to begin improvements in 2033-2034)
- Saving Funds FY 2030 through FY 2033
Smaller scale discussions pertained to the timing of the replacement of the HVAC unit in our BES gym, the elementary playground, the addition of green space vs. asphalt (areas around BES and BMS), south campus hallway carpet, plumbing needs at BHS, locker room layouts, ADA accessibility, and more.
