Unleash the Pride

Spectators – General Information:

·         The Beresford School District will be taking steps to limit spectator attendance at our activities this fall. The premise of limiting attendance is based on these three goals:

o   Keep all students and staff safe.

o   Keep all students and staff in school as long as possible.

o   Give all students the opportunity to participate in activities.

·         The Beresford School District believes limiting spectator attendance provides our students the best opportunity to complete their seasons and reduces the likelihood of community transmission.

·         Masks are “highly recommended” for ALL spectators at ALL INDOOR and ALL OUTDOOR events on Beresford School District property.  Masks will be available to purchase from a ticket seller for $1.00.

·         Spectators are asked to socially distance themselves away from those not in their immediate families to the best of their ability.

·         There will be NO REENTRY at an event that requires vouchers.

·         Unlimited Beresford School District Activity Passes are available and will be sold at their regular prices:

o   Single Adult—$65.00

§  Purchased online through the Beresford Athletic Booster Club (BABC).

§  $40 goes to the District and $25 for BABC membership.

o   6-12 Student—$20.00

o   JK-5 Student—$10.00

·         Please note:

o   With the exception of Beresford High School students, ONLY those individuals who possess an event and date specific voucher will be allowed in to watch the activity.

o   ALL activity pass purchases are Non-Refundable, including when activities are cancelled.

·         Beresford Community Senior Citizen “Golden Age Passes” will only be honored if the person presents the event and date specific voucher.

·         The Beresford School District will be providing FREE access to all events streamed in the Beresford High School Gym, Elementary School Gym, and at Cortland Carnes Stadium on the NFHS Network for the 2020-21 school year.  https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/search/?query=beresford

·         This Beresford School District COVID-19 spectator attendance plan is subject to change at any time and will be reevaluated at the end of the Fall season, prior to the beginning of the Winter season.

o   Please check the District’s webpage and social media for any changes or updates—Live Feed, Twitter, and Facebook.

o   You may also subscribe to AD Geoff Gross’s Remind account by texting to 81010 @Beresford.

Beresford High School Events:

·         Each rostered person (athlete/manager/statistician/cheerleader/coach) may be given a set number of event and date specific vouchers to distribute as they wish.  The voucher does not grant admission, but rather allows the holder to purchase a ticket or use an activity pass to get into the following Beresford High School events this Fall:  (Please note vouchers will NOT be reissued).

o   Varsity Football

§  For our first home football game vs. McCook Central-Montrose on Friday night, August 21 at 7:00, we will have open attendance since it is an outdoor venue.  We have multiple seating options available to help maintain social distancing, including the main stadium, south aluminum bleachers, multiple picnic tables in the courtyard, and we will be allowing bag chairs in designated areas on the track in lanes 5-8.  Gates will open at 5:30 p.m.  There will be no tailgate supper.

o   Varsity, JV, and C Team Volleyball

§  For our first home Jr. High, C, JV, and Varsity volleyball matches vs. Baltic on Tuesday, September 1 at 4:00, 5:00, 6:15, and 7:30, we will provide each rostered athlete, manager, statistician, and coach four (4) event vouchers to distribute as they wish.  This is an indoor venue and that is why our District is limiting spectator attendance.

o   BHS Fall Play

·         The visiting school’s Activities Director will be mailed the same number of total event & date specific vouchers as Beresford High School is providing to its own teams for each event.

·         Beresford High School students and High School students from the visiting school will be allowed to purchase a ticket or use an activity pass to attend an event.

o   Students must show a valid student ID from one of the two High Schools participating in order to purchase a ticket or use an activity pass to get into the event.  High School students from schools other than Beresford High School and the High School BHS is playing will NOT be allowed to enter.

·         Elementary and Middle School students will ONLY be allowed to attend events if they possess the aforementioned event and date specific voucher.  The voucher does not grant admission, but rather allows the holder to purchase a ticket or use an activity pass to enter the event.  Any Elementary or Middle School student who enters the event, MUST remain seated with the adult who brought them.

·         Beresford School District Staff Members, School Board Members and their Spouse WILL be allowed to attend events by showing their staff activity pass.

·         Beresford School District Game Day Sponsors WILL be allowed to attend events by turning in their Game Day Sponsor Pass.

·         The Beresford School District does not charge for the following event, but an event and date specific voucher will be required for admission:

o   Coronation

·         The Beresford School District does not charge for the following events and due to the small number of spectators that attend these events (with the exception of our XC Invite), the large amount of space that is available to socially distance and the fact that these events all take place outdoors, these fall events will NOT have spectator limitations:

o   Cross Country (due to the number of schools and athletes participating, modifications have been made to the meet)

o   Golf

o   Sub-Varsity Football

·        If there are any special circumstances and/or requests for consideration, please contact Beresford Activities Director Geoff Gross at 605-368-0264 or by email at Geoffrey.Gross@k12.sd.us.

Beresford Middle School Events:

·         Each rostered person may be given a set number event and date specific vouchers to distribute as they wish.  Since admission is not collected at Middle School events, the voucher grants admission to the following Beresford Middle School events this Fall:  (Please note vouchers will NOT be reissued).

o   7th Grade Volleyball

o   8th Grade Volleyball

§  Please note, vouchers will be limited in 7th and 8th Grade Volleyball due to the very limited amount of seating available in the Beresford Elementary Gym and Beresford High School Multi-purpose Room.  Elementary School Gym and Multi-purpose Room makes social distancing very difficult, if not impossible.

§  Non-volleyball playing Middle School students, High School students and Elementary students will NOT be allowed to attend without an event and date specific voucher.  Any Middle School or Elementary student who enters with an event and date specific voucher, MUST remain seated with the adult who brought them.

·         The visiting school’s Activities Director will be mailed the same number of total event & date specific vouchers as Beresford Middle School is providing to its own teams for each event.

·         Due to the small number of spectators that attend these events (with the exception of our XC Invite), the large amount of space that is available to socially distance and the fact that these events all take place outdoors, these fall events will NOT have spectator limitations:

o   Cross Country (due to the number of schools and athletes participating, modifications have been made to the meet)

o   Golf

o   Middle School Football
