Reason:  Dr. Dustin Degen to be the next Beresford School District Superintendent


The Beresford School Board is pleased to announce that they have entered into a verbal agreement with Dr. Dustin Degen to be the District’s next superintendent of schools, effective July 1, 2021.  Dr. Degen has been the 6-12 principal at Beresford for the past nine years, 2012-2021.  Prior to serving as the 6-12 principal, Dr. Degen was a middle school science teacher for seven years—five years at Beresford and two years at Harrisburg.

Dr. Degen holds four degrees from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion.  He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2005; Master of Science in Technology for Education and Training in 2006; Educational Specialist in PK-12 School Principal in 2010; and Educational Doctorate in Educational Administration in the School Superintendent program in 2019.

Dr. Degen lives in Beresford with his wife Sabrina and his children Kate, Darren, Emma, and Brynn.
